Your first projects, in order

  1. One evening

    A printable mini

Book covers, a grocery box or a set of labels. You'll practice printing at 100%, cutting straight and scoring folds without risking a whole room.

  2. A weekend

    A simple room box

Use a sturdy shoebox or a ready-made wooden box. Paper the walls, lay a floor, add trim and three or four pieces of furniture. The wallpaper planner in the Room boxes section works out the sheets for you.

  3. A few weeks

    A kit house

A laser-cut kit teaches assembly, painting and lighting step by step. Dry-fit each piece before gluing, and paint parts while they're still flat.

  4. Your pace

    A scene of your own

Recreate a room you remember: a grandparent's kitchen, a corner store, the balcón where everyone sat. Memory is the best design brief there is.

Beginner mistakes to skip

  • Gluing too soon. Arrange everything first, take a photo, then glue.
  • Too much glue. A thin layer holds better and doesn't warp paper.
  • Mixing scales. Check every piece you buy against a known size.
  • Skipping the test print. Print one page first and measure the test square, if there is one, or a piece with a known size.
  • Rushing the finish. Let paint and glue dry fully between steps.
